There is such a magical energy with the full moonlight pouring down on us. I’m always compelled to do something during the full moon, whether it be a ritual with candles or incense, a walk at night, or a meditation under the moonlight. But if you don’t have time to do a whole ritual, meditation, or night walk to honor the full moon, this is one of my favourite ways to still connect with her energy.
What is Moon Water?
Creating your own moon water is a simple and beautiful ritual to not only honor and connect with the full moon energy, but also to infuse your moon water with fruits and herbs that are local and in season. This helps you ground and connect with nature’s own healing, growth and rhythms, even if you live 7 stories up!
If you’re lucky enough to have your own garden (or pots of herbs), choose any fruits and herbs that are in season. Right now my garden is abundant with mint, lavender and basil, but I’ll encourage you to use whatever you’ve got on hand.
I’ve added in a piece of Clear Quartz which is optional. Clear Quartz has the ability to amplify anything around it. So it will amplify the moon’s energy as well as the magical and healing properties of the fruits and herbs you’ve chosen. You can simply place the Quartz next to your jar- it doesn’t actually have to go in with all the other ingredients to capture its energetic properties.
Moon Water Supplies:
a mason jar, or other clear glass jar
enough water to fill the jar
a few slices of watermelon (for sensuality + joy)
a few strawberries, sliced (for love + fertility)
a handful of mint (for healing, strength + prosperity)
a few sprigs of lavender (for love, protection + peace)
a few sprigs of basil (for love, protection + prosperity)
a piece of Clear Quartz (for amplification) optional
Make your Moon Water
At nightfall gather all your ingredients; slice up the fruit and place them with the herbs inside your jar.
Fill your jar with water. (If you want more of a potent elixir, you can use boiled water, but I usually use room temp water which gives it a delicate flavour).
Place your jar either in a window sill that will get moonlight, or outside to be infused by the full moonlight!
In the morning gather your jar, strain out the ingredients and sip on it all day long! Feel the magic of the moon filling every single cell, and don’t forget to give thanks for the bounty nature provides us!
Drink the moon and be blessed!
